RELEASE THE NEW YOU!
For some, “Release” is another one of those words that conjures up a negative response internally… an emotion of ‘missing it’, ‘letting go’, ‘not having’, ‘it’s not fair’, a form of fear… of someone or something that is natural or added to the state of life one is used to, will not be there any more.
Definitely, ‘release’ requires courage to change, sometimes it is a forced change, to allow the universe to re-fill what we assume is the space that is now there because we’ve emptied or cleared it.
To understand how your template for ‘release’ affects you,
Close your eyes…
Look back to the freeing of a hurt animal or bird you had in your care…
Look back to the first day your child went to school…
Remember how you felt when you sold your first home…
Remember back to when you buried a close family member…
Recall how you felt when you separated from your first true love…
Recall how you felt when you had some treasure stolen from you…
If you have not experienced any of these life milestones, imagine one or recall how your parents worked their way through loss and grief in their lives… this is your template – it can however be re-programmed.
Jot down those emotions, thoughts and excuses that have been stimulated. We will work with them below. Now take a deep breath in through the nose and out the mouth and one more… and one more.
There are many idioms that describe that emptiness or loss and or desire of not having a particular need, want or person in your life. Support programs take people through grief counselling; the Medical association issues medication; Friends and Family re-act differently, often tip-toeing around you or more often staying away, but surprisingly there are a few that just hug you and let you be in your grief… there is help around you to help you through and over this ‘release’ or ‘loss’.
The new age movement has at it’s disposal all sorts of techniques to manifest your future self into being. There is not however, a primary understanding that to receive or change, one needs to give… and many grapple at why those techniques of manifestation do not work for them. The hankering after a desire is not the key… the daily affirmation is not the key… the visualization boards is not the key… These are only steps in the procedure of acquiring a goal, changing a state of being, creating a new you. It is not the beginning step.
Release is the key.
Now to understand the positive side of ‘Release’ in your template,
Close your eyes….
Recall what if feels like to experience or witness the birth of new life…
Recall what if feels like after you have cleaned out all your cupboards…
Look back to what it feels like to move into a brand new home or drive a brand new car…
Look back to what it feels like to be at your own or your child’s graduation…
Remember what it feels like to be addiction free… (drugs, alcohol, gambling, smoking, credit cards, food, sugar, sex, things, people etc.)
Remember what it feels like to swim naked…
All of the above events are the ‘joy’ of being unencumbered with ‘hanging onto the past’ you, your concepts or others. They are a result of letting go and releasing so you can accept or be. The struggle that is sometimes associated with acquiring these milestones are also the depth of your template surrounding the word ‘Release’.
Jot down those emotions, thoughts and excuses that were stimulated with the positive side of ‘release’. We will work with them below. Now take a deep breath in through the nose and out the mouth and one more… and one more.
The ‘struggle’ symptoms that are often associated with acquiring new goals and events are also part of your old template, part of your old conditioning that you have underlying your ability to receive all.
What would it be like for you to be able to receive without all of the baggage and past conditioning which makes up the struggle or even total denial of receiving your desires? The emotions, thoughts and excuses are the beginning…. they are what is stopping you. This is what you need to ‘release’. By giving up these, you make room for miracles to happen. This is true giving to receive… You are giving yourself space. You are creating a new you. You are re-programming what you want, not what your past template, that does not work, wants.
Homework time:
Take that list of emotions, thoughts and excuses.
Read them all out aloud.
Feel what that is.
Now read out the first statement.
Ask yourself…
What is the worst thing that could happen if I didn’t think this way?
Is there another way of thinking about this?
What would I gain if I didn’t think this way?
Whom is actually gaining out of this way of thinking?
Could I give myself permission to change this way of thinking?
What would I like to think about this instead?
Write down your new way of thinking…..
Do all the emotions, thoughts and excuses… one at a time so you create a list of your new way of thinking. This new way of thinking is now your daily affirmations. Read it daily.
To change a habit, it takes 15days.
To change a lifetime it takes 30days.
There will be obvious signs in your environment that change is happening.
Your desires will manifest as the Universe Always Says YES!
